About Estuary

Neither here nor there.
And that's the point.

Our Story

From Hong Kong to the UK — and everything in between.

Estuary was founded by Diana Lee — a career development practitioner who made the journey from Hong Kong to the UK and found herself, like so many others, navigating an estuary: no longer who she was, not yet who she was becoming.

She noticed that the tools available for career conversations were either dry and corporate, or too abstract to be useful. She wanted something that felt human — that could be held, moved, and shared around a table.

So she made them. What started as a bespoke set of facilitation cards for her coaching practice became something far bigger: a toolkit, a training programme, and a growing community of facilitators in the UK and Hong Kong who believe that transitions deserve better tools.

Estuary takes its name from that in-between place — where the river meets the sea, where fresh meets salt, where one journey ends and another quietly begins.

Mission & Values

We exist to make career transitions more human.

01

Physicality

We believe things you can hold, move and arrange create deeper engagement than anything on a screen. Our tools are designed to be touched.

02

Warmth

Career transitions are human moments. We design everything — tools, training, interactions — with the warmth that this work deserves.

03

Rigour

Beauty without substance is decoration. Everything Estuary produces is grounded in career development theory, facilitation practice and real-world testing.

04

Accessibility

Good career tools should not be limited to people who can afford a premium coach. We work with universities, NGOs, and social enterprises to widen access.

Why Estuary

Why physical tools matter.

01

Physical over digital

In a world of apps and dashboards, our tools are tactile, portable and beautifully made. Participants remember and use them long after the session ends.

02

Facilitator-centred design

We don't just make tools — we train the people who use them. Every product comes with facilitation guidance and is backed by our certification community.

03

Cross-cultural fluency

With deep roots in both the UK and Hong Kong, Estuary understands how career transitions differ across cultures — and designs for both.
